YAMHILL COUNTY MINI HORSES

April 20th, 2009

Our son Tom is a Yamhill deputy and he takes animal abuse cases as seriously as we do. There was a huge herd of Mini horses with feet that resembled rams horns, lice, starvation, mange, you name it, they had it.  The Yamhill police should be commended for their part in this, it was one of the worst cases I have ever seen and they handled it very well.  The dreadful woman who did this spent the night in a cell, but I bet she was fed and cared for way better than she did to her little ones. The ponies were taken in by a volunteer angel called Jamie Cheslock, and with her great big heart, has seen to their futures in a great way. Go check them out, all of the ponies are here..http://jamiecheslock.blogspot.com/

Here are two of the mares, they had not seen a vet or care for at least 7 yrs…and yes, they are hooves you are looking at.

We brought the 2 stallions here to Project Spirit, and this little darling is going to stay here for his life time, we recently discovered he is blind, so is unadoptable.  He will become the P.S. mascot and will delight any visitors we have. We are all besotted with our new little pal.

This is the other little guy, we named him James. We will find him a wonderful home soon.

Both stallions were gelded and are healing.
